Beautiful tempermanent, Easy Keeper...Great 1st horse for sale in Bigmount, Pennsylvania

$1,000

For Sale, or Potential Free Lease for Care Agreement: Brandy is a sweet and gentle 14 year old Quarter Horse Mare. She is a mellow, very easy keeper. She is currently boarded and has been in both 24/7 turnout and stalled/pasture rotation every 12 hours. She does well stalled for half the day and enters and leaves the Barn with smoothness. She is roughly mid-way in the herd per status. She isn't one to fight for a top-spot, but she won't take any bullying. She is an excellent trail horse, both alone and with a herd. Many times I have ridden when another horse spooked and she took everything in stride. She does well with confidant beginners and intermediates. She does well with young riders, but she does need that reminder that you are 'the boss'. I have used Clinton Anderson's methods with her teaching her to move her feet and she responds Very well to this training. She lunges well, stands beautifully for both Ferrier and Vet. She has never been unsound and does well with barefeet ( as she is now) or with front shoes (as she is in the spring). Her feet are softer and if you intend to ride on cobble or stones you will want to shoe her front feet. Otherwise, she does well barefoot. She is a good weight, sees the vet semi-annually and is maintained on a sound vaccination plan. She is trailer shy when she does not see the trailer often so you will need to work with her if you want to travel- but again she responds beautifully to consistent training. I do not travel much with her myself . She is Very amiable and likes to please. I adopted Brandy 4 years ago from a woman who was suffering in the economy and needed the money. I paid $1200 for her and spent a considerable amount of time and money in training her. I have taken excellent care of her and I only want to ensure that she goes to a sound, loving home. I am selling her because I have a significant personal injury ( a grade 3 MCL tear in my left knee- which is unrelated to riding). Sadly, I am unlikely to ride again anytime soon as this is the 3rd time I have done this to myself. I am in a steel brace indefinitely. When I started working with Brandy she was just a pasture horse ridden occasionally. In the time I have worked with her she has blossomed amazingly into a great trail horse. She is one of the easiest horses I have ever worked with and such a sweetheart. Since I can no longer work with her I can not see such a beautiful, even tempered horse go to waste sitting in the pasture again. If you are interested in a good horse for your confidant teen to start out on, a sound trail horse for yourself, a good lesson horse, or just a barn buddy Brandy is a perfect choice. I will only show to Serious buyers. I also have some extensive tack and saddle set up that I would be willing to part with, at an additional cost, to the right owner. Call with questions. .
